Delete Account

Permanently remove your account and data from PartnerAlly.

Delete Account

Account deletion permanently removes your personal data from PartnerAlly. This action cannot be undone.

Account deletion is permanent. Make sure to export any data you need before proceeding.

Before You Delete

Export Your Data First

Go to Privacy & Data

Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Data.

Request Export

Click "Export My Data" to download your information.

Wait for Export

Receive download link via email.

Download

Save your data before proceeding with deletion.

Understanding Account Deletion

When you delete your account:

Timing

  • Account access: Ends immediately
  • Personal data deletion: Within 30 days
  • Audit logs: Retained per legal requirements
  • Backups: Purged per backup schedule

Deleting Your Account

Requirements

Before you can delete:

  • Must have access to your account
  • Must confirm via email
  • Cannot have pending ownership transfers

Deletion Process

Go to Settings

Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Data.

Find Delete Section

Scroll to "Delete Account" at the bottom.

Click "Delete My Account"

Opens confirmation dialog.

Read Warning

Understand what will be deleted.

Type Confirmation

Enter your email address to confirm.

Confirm Deletion

Click "Permanently Delete Account".

Verify via Email

Click confirmation link sent to your email.

You must click the email confirmation link within 24 hours or the deletion request expires.

Special Cases

Organization Admins

If you're an organization admin:

  1. Transfer admin role to another user first
  2. Then proceed with account deletion
  3. Cannot delete if you're the only admin

Sole Organization Member

If you're the only member:

  • Organization will be deleted with your account
  • All organization data will be removed
  • Export organization data first

Pending Tasks

If you have assigned tasks:

  • Tasks will be unassigned
  • Admin will need to reassign
  • Consider reassigning before deletion

After Deletion

Immediate Effects

  • Logged out of all sessions
  • Cannot sign in again
  • Email removed from system
  • Profile no longer visible

Recovery Period

For 30 days after deletion:

  • Some data still being processed
  • Cannot create new account with same email
  • Contact support if deletion was accidental

Accidental Deletion

If you deleted accidentally:

  1. Contact support immediately
  2. Within 30 days, recovery may be possible
  3. After 30 days, data is permanently gone

Rejoining Later

Creating a New Account

After deletion is complete:

  • Wait 30 days
  • Can sign up with same email
  • Will be treated as new user
  • No data from previous account

Rejoining an Organization

If you want to rejoin:

  1. Complete new signup process
  2. Request invitation from org admin
  3. Complete onboarding again
  4. Previous assignments not restored

Organization-Initiated Removal

Admin Removing a User

Organization admins can remove users:

  • User loses access immediately
  • User's data handled per policy
  • User notified via email
  • User can delete account separately

Data Retention Requirements

Some data must be retained:

  • Audit logs for compliance
  • Financial records if applicable
  • Legal hold data

GDPR Right to Erasure

Under GDPR:

  • Right to be forgotten honored
  • Exceptions for legal obligations
  • Verification may be required

Data Processing After Deletion

After deletion:

  • No marketing communications
  • No data processing
  • Anonymized data may exist in aggregates
  • Required records retained separately

Common Questions

Can I reactivate a deleted account?

No. Once confirmed, deletion is permanent. You can create a new account after 30 days.

What happens to shared documents?

Documents you shared remain accessible to the organization. Ownership transfers to the organization.

Will my comments be deleted?

Comments are anonymized to "Deleted User" but the content is preserved for context.

Can I delete just my data without deleting my account?

Use the data export and Privacy settings to manage specific data. Full deletion requires account deletion.

How do I know deletion is complete?

You'll receive a confirmation email when deletion is processed.

What if I'm locked out and want to delete?

Contact support with verification of your identity to request deletion.
