Account Settings

Manage your profile, timezone, and personal preferences.

Account Settings

Account settings control your personal profile and preferences. These settings apply only to your account.

Accessing Account Settings

Go to Settings

Click Settings in the sidebar or profile menu.

Click "Account"

Opens your personal settings.

Profile Information

Display Name

Your name as shown throughout the platform:

  • On your profile
  • In task assignments
  • On comments and activity
  • In team member lists

To change:

  1. Click your name field
  2. Enter new name
  3. Save changes

Profile Photo

Your avatar image:

  • Pulled from your Google account by default
  • Displayed on comments, assignments, team lists

Email Address

Your login email:

  • Set by your Google account
  • Cannot be changed in PartnerAlly
  • To use different email, sign up with that Google account

Your email is tied to Google authentication. Change it in your Google account if needed.

Preferences

Timezone

Your timezone affects:

  • How dates and times are displayed
  • When notifications are sent
  • Due date calculations

To change:

  1. Find Timezone setting
  2. Select your timezone from dropdown
  3. Save changes

Date Format

Choose how dates are displayed:

  • MM/DD/YYYY (US format)
  • DD/MM/YYYY (International)
  • YYYY-MM-DD (ISO format)

Language

Interface language:

  • English (default)
  • Additional languages as available

Theme

Display theme:

  • Dark (default)
  • System (follows device setting)

Session Management

Current Sessions

View active sessions:

  • Browser sessions
  • Device information
  • Last activity

Sign Out Other Sessions

For security:

  1. Go to Account settings
  2. Find Sessions section
  3. Click "Sign out all other sessions"
  4. Confirm action

Authentication

Sign-In Method

PartnerAlly uses Google OAuth:

  • No password stored in PartnerAlly
  • Security managed by Google
  • Supports Google's security features

Two-Factor Authentication

2FA is managed through your Google account:

  1. Enable 2FA in Google
  2. PartnerAlly inherits this protection
  3. More secure authentication

We recommend enabling 2FA on your Google account for added security.

Linked Accounts

Google Account

Your primary authentication:

  • Used for sign-in
  • Profile photo source
  • Email provider

Organization Membership

View organizations you belong to:

  • Current organization
  • Your role (Admin, User, Viewer)
  • Join date

Activity Settings

Activity Visibility

Control who sees your activity:

  • Within organization (default)
  • Limited visibility options

Status

Set your availability status:

  • Available
  • Busy
  • Away
  • Custom status

Saved Views and Preferences

View Preferences

Your saved preferences:

  • Default views for gaps, tasks, etc.
  • Filter preferences
  • Sort preferences

Keyboard Shortcuts

Customize keyboard shortcuts:

  • View current shortcuts
  • Customize (if available)

Common Changes

Update Your Name

Open Account Settings

Navigate to Settings > Account.

Edit Name Field

Click and type your new name.

Save

Click Save to apply changes.

Change Timezone

Open Account Settings

Navigate to Settings > Account.

Find Timezone

Locate the timezone dropdown.

Select Your Timezone

Choose from the list.

Save

Click Save to apply.

Account Security

Best Practices

  • Enable 2FA on your Google account
  • Review active sessions periodically
  • Sign out from shared devices
  • Use a strong Google password

Security Concerns

If you suspect unauthorized access:

  1. Sign out all sessions
  2. Change your Google password
  3. Enable 2FA if not already
  4. Contact support

Common Questions

How do I change my password?

Since PartnerAlly uses Google authentication, change your password in your Google account settings.

Can I use a non-Google email?

Currently, PartnerAlly requires Google authentication. Use a Google account or create one with your preferred email.

How do I merge accounts?

Accounts cannot be merged. If you have multiple accounts, choose which to use and export data from others.

What happens if I leave an organization?

When you leave:

  • Access to that organization ends
  • Personal settings are preserved
  • You can join other organizations
