Trust Rating

Understanding your overall compliance score and what affects it.

Trust Rating

The Trust Rating is your organization's overall compliance health score. It provides a single number that represents how well your compliance program is performing across all enabled frameworks.

What Is the Trust Rating?

The Trust Rating is a percentage score from 0% to 100% that reflects:

  • How many compliance gaps have been resolved
  • How much evidence coverage you have
  • How fresh and relevant your documentation is
  • Your control implementation status

Think of the Trust Rating as a GPA for your compliance program—it aggregates performance across multiple frameworks into one easy-to-understand number.

How It's Calculated

The Trust Rating combines several factors:

FactorWeightDescription
Gap Resolution40%Percentage of identified gaps that are resolved
Evidence Coverage25%Controls with supporting documentation
Control Implementation25%Controls marked as implemented
Evidence Freshness10%How recently evidence was updated

Example Calculation

If your organization has:

  • 80% of gaps resolved → contributes 32 points (40% × 80)
  • 90% evidence coverage → contributes 22.5 points (25% × 90)
  • 75% controls implemented → contributes 18.75 points (25% × 75)
  • 85% evidence freshness → contributes 8.5 points (10% × 85)

Total Trust Rating: 81.75% (rounds to 82%)

What's a good target?

For most organizations:
