Form Templates

Templates are pre-built forms for common compliance scenarios. Use them to save time and ensure you're asking the right questions.

What Are Templates?

Templates are ready-made forms that you can:

  • Use as-is
  • Customize for your needs
  • Use as starting points for new forms

Templates are based on industry best practices and common compliance requirements. They save you from building forms from scratch.

Template Library

Accessing Templates

Go to Forms

Navigate to the Forms section.

Click "New Form"

Opens the creation dialog.

Select "From Template"

Opens the template library.

Browse Templates

Find templates by category or search.

Template Categories

Based on common standards:

  • SIG (Standardized Information Gathering)

SOC 2 Readiness Checklist

Purpose: Assess SOC 2 audit readiness

Click "Use Template"

Creates a form copy.

Customize

Modify to fit your needs.

Save and Publish

When ready, make it live.

When customizing, be careful not to remove questions that are essential for compliance. Consider why each question was included.

Creating Your Own Templates

Save Form as Template

Turn a form into a reusable template:

Build Your Form

Create and refine your form.

Click "Save as Template"

Opens template creation dialog.

Name the Template

Give it a descriptive name.

Add Description

Explain what the template is for.

Set Category

Organize with other templates.

Save

Template is available for reuse.

Editing Templates

Update a template:

  1. Open the template
  2. Make changes
  3. Save template

Changes don't affect forms already created from the template.

Deleting Templates

Remove templates you no longer need:

  1. Find the template
  2. Click delete
  3. Confirm deletion

Existing forms from the template are not affected.

Template Updates

System Templates

PartnerAlly-provided templates may receive updates:

  • Based on regulatory changes
  • Improved best practices
  • User feedback

You'll be notified of major updates.

Applying Updates

When templates update:

  • Existing forms are unchanged
  • New forms use updated version
  • Consider refreshing old forms

Template Sharing

Share Within Organization

Make templates available to your team:

  1. Set visibility to "Organization"
  2. Team members can use the template
  3. Consider documenting when to use

For organizations:

  • Build a library of custom templates
  • Standardize data collection
  • Ensure consistent assessments

Common Questions

Can I see what changed in a template?

Template version history shows:

  • What changed
  • When changes were made
  • Who made changes

Can I merge template updates into existing forms?

Not automatically. To incorporate updates:

  1. Create new form from updated template
  2. Compare with existing form
  3. Add new/changed questions manually
  4. Consider retiring old form

How do I know which template to use?

Consider:

  • What compliance framework?
  • What data are you collecting?
  • Who will respond?
  • What will you do with the data?

Can I combine templates?

Yes:

  1. Create from one template
  2. Add questions from another
