Organization Settings

Configure your organization's name, preferences, and global settings.

Organization Settings

Organization settings control global preferences that affect all members. Only admins can modify these settings.

Accessing Organization Settings

Go to Settings

Click Settings in the sidebar.

Click "Organization"

Opens organization configuration.

Basic Information

Organization Name

Your organization's display name:

  • Shown in the header
  • Used in reports
  • Visible to all members

To change:

  1. Click the name field
  2. Enter new name
  3. Save changes

Organization Slug

The URL-friendly identifier:

  • Used in URLs
  • Cannot contain spaces
  • Changing may affect bookmarks

Changing the organization slug may break existing bookmarks and shared links.

Upload your organization's logo:

  • Displayed in header
  • Used in reports
  • Recommended: 200x200px PNG

Regional Settings

Timezone

Default timezone for the organization:

  • Affects due date defaults
  • Used for scheduled reports
  • Individual users can override

Date Format

How dates are displayed:

  • MM/DD/YYYY (US)
  • DD/MM/YYYY (International)
  • YYYY-MM-DD (ISO)

First Day of Week

Calendar configuration:

  • Sunday (US default)
  • Monday (International)

Compliance Settings

Default Frameworks

Set which frameworks are enabled by default:

  • New documents analyzed against these
  • Can be overridden per analysis
  • Affects gap detection scope

Framework Priority

Order frameworks by importance:

  1. Most important first
  2. Affects default sorting
  3. Used in reports

Compliance Calendar

Configure compliance-related dates:

  • Fiscal year start
  • Audit periods
  • Reporting deadlines

Notification Defaults

Organization-Wide Alerts

Configure alerts sent to all members:

  • Critical gap notifications
  • System announcements
  • Compliance deadlines

Default Channels

Where org-wide notifications go:

  • Slack channels (if connected)
  • Email distribution lists
  • In-app notifications

Security Settings

Session Timeout

How long before inactive users are logged out:

  • 30 minutes (high security)
  • 8 hours (standard)
  • 24 hours (convenience)

Allowed Email Domains

Restrict who can join:

  • Limit to company domains
  • Multiple domains allowed
  • Affects invitation validation

Setting email domain restrictions only affects new invitations. Existing members are not removed.

Data Retention

Configure how long data is kept:

  • Deleted items: 30 days default
  • Audit logs: 3 years minimum
  • Custom policies available

Integration Settings

API Access

Manage API settings:

  • View API keys (if applicable)
  • Regenerate keys
  • View API usage

Connected Services

See organization-wide integrations:

  • Slack workspace status
  • Webhook endpoints
  • Third-party connections

Branding

Custom Colors

Customize the platform appearance:

  • Primary color
  • Accent color
  • Limited in current version

Report Branding

Customize exported reports:

  • Include organization logo
  • Custom footer text
  • Contact information

Usage & Billing

Current Plan

View subscription details:

  • Plan tier
  • Features included
  • Usage limits

Usage Statistics

See organization usage:

  • Documents analyzed
  • Active users
  • Storage used

Billing

Manage subscription:

  • View invoices
  • Update payment method
  • Change plan (if applicable)

Billing changes may require additional verification. Contact support for enterprise billing.

Danger Zone

Transfer Ownership

Transfer organization to another admin:

  1. Must be an existing admin
  2. You remain as admin
  3. They become primary owner

Delete Organization

Permanently delete the organization:

Deleting an organization removes ALL data for ALL members. This cannot be undone.

Before deleting:

  • Export all data needed
  • Notify all members
  • Cancel any subscriptions
  • Remove integrations

To delete:

  1. Scroll to Danger Zone
  2. Click "Delete Organization"
  3. Type organization name to confirm
  4. Click "Permanently Delete"

Audit Trail

Organization Changes

All organization setting changes are logged:

  • Who made the change
  • What was changed
  • When it occurred
  • Previous value

Viewing Audit Log

  1. Go to Organization settings
  2. Click "View Audit Log"
  3. Filter by date range or action type

Best Practices

Regular Review

Review organization settings:

  • Monthly: Check member list
  • Quarterly: Review frameworks
  • Annually: Audit all settings

Documentation

Keep records of:

  • Why settings were chosen
  • When major changes occurred
  • Who approved changes

Security

Secure organization settings:

  • Limit admin count
  • Use strong authentication
  • Review access regularly

Common Questions

Can I change the organization name?

Yes, admins can change the name anytime. It updates everywhere immediately.

What happens if I change the timezone?

Existing dates remain unchanged. New dates use the new timezone. Individual user timezones override for display.

How do I add a second admin?

Go to Members, find the user, and change their role to Admin.

Can I have multiple organizations?

Yes, but each requires separate subscription. Users can belong to multiple organizations.
